This site celebrates Western Australia's role in Space research and, in particular, Carnarvon's critical role supporting NASA's Gemini, Apollo and Skylab projects.
Note (March 2009): . . . The manuscript of "One giant leap for a town: Carnarvon and Apollo" (provisional title), to which this site will be a companion, is now complete. We are looking for an alternative publisher; the University of Western Australia Press has withdrawn from the project because they feel there is not a market for the sale of the 1,500 copies needed to cover its costs. The manuscript is currently being peer-reviewed by the NASA History Office for possible publication. An answer is expected very soon.
